A 27-year-old who inflicted 13 wounds on a police officer with a sharp instrument in Tursk, Bytów County, was charged with attempted murder of the officer. He was temporarily arrested. He faces life imprisonment.
The attack on the policeman took place on Tuesday around 18 in the village of Tursko in Bytów County. While patrolling the forest, the officer and the forest guard tried to intervene with the man, who started running away when he saw them. The policeman followed him. The attacker stabbed the officer with a knife and fled.
The prosecutor said that there were 13 wounds on the victim's body that were inflicted with a sharp instrument, including: around the head and on the back.
On Tuesday evening, after a manhunt, the police managed to arrest the wanted attacker in the forest.
A 27-year-old resident of Koszalin County was charged with attempted murder of a police officer. The man faces life imprisonment.
Arrest for three months
Deputy district prosecutor in Miastko, Natalia Gawrych, said on Thursday that the court agreed with the prosecutor's request and decided to arrest the suspect for three months.
