Poznań. He came with his son to the store, he was lost with a knife

A knife attack in Poznań. The man was wounded in front of the store he came to with his son. The attacker did not like how the 50-year-old parked. At one point he took out the knife and struck it in his stomach. The victim was hospitalized, where he underwent surgery. The suspect 57-year-old was detained.

The incident occurred on Friday, around 4pm on Jeżycka Street in Poznań. The reason for the quarrel was a badly parked car. The 57-year-old was to damage the car by drawing varnish. When the owner of the vehicle reacted, the man hit him with a knife in his stomach and escaped.

– Immediately after receiving the notification, a roundup was organized. Late in the evening, the suspect man was detained by Poznań policemen. The officers secured the knife. The detained man is 57 years old. He lived nearby where the incident occurred. He is currently in one of the Poznań police stations and is put at the disposal of the prosecutor from the District Prosecutor's Office in Jeżyce – said Commissioner Maciej Święcichowski from the press team of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Poznań.

Preliminary qualification: attempted murder

The injured 50-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent surgery. His condition is stable.

The prosecutor's office initially qualifies this event as an attempted murder. – After presenting the charges and after his interrogation, he will submit a request for detention on remand – said prosecutor Łukasz Wawrzyniak, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań.
