The prosecutor's office has completed the investigation into the collapse of students at the District School Complex in Przasnysz. No one was charged.
– The District Prosecutor's Office in Przasnysz discontinued the investigation into the fainting of students at the District School Complex in Przasnysz on April 12, 2024 – admitted Elżbieta Łukasiewicz, spokeswoman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Ostrołęka. She added that investigators did not prove that the students were exposed to danger in the case.
– During the investigation at the scene of the incident, the Specialized Chemical and Ecological Rescue Group of the State Fire Service in Ciechanów did not reveal any substances in the school premises. Based on the description and feelings of the witnesses of the event, the Chemical Laboratory was unable to indicate what type of substance could have caused the reactions indicated by the witnesses – the prosecutor justifies the investigators' decision.
Moreover, the medical opinions obtained regarding people who received medical assistance showed that they were not exposed to direct danger of loss of life or serious damage to health.
Dizziness, stomach pain
Let us recall that a substance was sprayed on the premises of the school complex in Przasnysz (Masovian Voivodeship). Students and staff were evacuated. Symptoms of poisoning were reported by 24 people. Students complained of dizziness, stomach pain, and some vomited. 340 people were evacuated from the building, including 313 students, 25 teachers and two staff members. Ultimately, 15 people were taken to hospital.
16 fire brigade vehicles and a specialist chemical and ecological group from Ciechanów worked on site.
