Within six months, tram lines 14 and 16, connecting the town of Wilanów with Śródmieście, Bielany and Ochota, traveled 10 million passengers – the City Transport Board informed.
The lines run on the new route from October 29, 2024.
About 75,000 passengers used them on the first day of trams on Wilanów. Later there were days when the number of travelers exceeded the inauguration and reached about 82 thousand. As reported by ZTM, for comparison to trams of line 17, the longest in Warsaw (23.4 km; 49 stops), every day he gets 100-110 thousand. people.
From the moment of opening the route to the end of April, about 10.5 million passengers took advantage of their entire routes (with line 14 was suspended for several days during the holiday season and the second time because of the stage of work on the construction of a tram on Rakowiecka Street).
About 40 percent of passengers traveled on the “Wilanowski” episode of the new route (stops town Wilanów – Goworka).
Most on the Wilanów episode
“Among the 10 stops on the new route with the largest number of passengers, 7 are those on the Wilanów section. The most people get on and get off at two stops in the very center of Warsaw, i.e. at the Dmowski roundabout and the Świętokrzyska metro station,” ZTM said.
In third place is the Dolna stop, and then: Saint. Boniface, town of Wilanów, Nałęczowska, Plac Unii Lubelska, Sobieski, Royal Axis, Spacerowa.
Line 16 is more popular among passengers – it takes about 80 percent. travelers among all those using both new lines. By the end of April, almost 8 million people used it (including almost 3 million on the new section), and “fourteen” over 2 million (including over a million on the new episode).
The largest number of passengers is transported in the afternoon peak, between 16.00 and 17.00 – it's almost 10 percent all travelers (at the morning peak it is about 7 percent).
“Interestingly, the use of the Wilanowski section, from the morning to around 13-14 is greater than the rest of the route. Also the turnout in both peaks is similar here. This may indicate that this route is also a good local connection (e.g. to friends or school), and not only on further travels to other districts” – noted ZTM.
