Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced that from 18 (17 Polish time) on Saturday to midnight from Sunday to Monday (23 in Poland) in the war with Ukraine, an Easter truce will be effective – the Kremlin informed on a telegram.

– guided by humanitarian reasons, the Russian side announces the Easter truce (applicable – ed.) From 18 to midnight from Sunday to Monday. At my order, all military activities are to be suspended at this time – he told the head of the Russian armed forces quoted by Reuters.

– We assume that Ukraine will follow our example. At the same time, our troops should be prepared to repel possible violations of arms suspension and provocation from the enemy – added the leader Russia.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced that it issued instructions on suspending weapons to all group commanders in the “Special Military Operation” area, as the Kremlin defines War in Ukraine.
