Rafał Brzoska's appeal: A few days ago, the “Wektory 2024” gala took place. On this occasion, he spoke out on social media Rafał Brzoska, president of InPostwho appealed to “entrepreneurs and politicians”. “The Polish economy reminds us today a ship sailing out into a stormy sea,” wrote, among others, Brzoska.
A storm is coming: “The upcoming storm, perhaps the largest in history, presents us with challenges that we cannot ignore,” the billionaire added. In this context, he mentioned, among others: tightening US trade policy towards the EU. Donald Trump has already announced that will introduce tariffs on imports of goods from Europe. Brzoska also pointed to economic crisis in Germanyi.e. “our key trading partner”.
Threats to the EU: Brzoska also mentions among the threats: lack of EU competitiveness in terms of innovation, “especially in the use of artificial intelligence”, ubiquitous bureaucracy and excess regulations and rising energy priceswhich “undermine our global competitiveness.” However, the owner of InPost sees light at the end of the tunnel. “We have the strength within us to not only weather this storm, but also win!” – he wrote.
“Four Masts”: According to Rafał Brzoska Europe must build “four mighty masts”. This is above all policy supporting Polish businessuse of modern technologies and artificial intelligence in cooperation with Polish scientists, tightening the tax system“so that companies earning money in Poland pay taxes here and not abroad” and deregulation of the economy.
Churchill's words: According to the billionaire, however, the key is “building cross-party consensus political, similar to what Poland achieved with joining NATO“. In the entry, Brzoska mentioned, among others: words of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. “They had a choice between war or disgrace. They chose disgrace, and they will also have war,” said the politician in a fiery speech delivered on May 13, 1940 before the House of Commons. “Today we can paraphrase them: We have a choice between a difficult fight against global challenges or safe stagnation. If we choose the latter, we will still have to fight – but then it will mean defeat and disgrace,” the businessman concluded.
