The politician herself, famous for her scandals and performances, anti-Ukrainian views and supporting the Russian narrative on the war, accused the authorities of “dictatorship”. In her opinion, “Jews are behind the decision to reject her candidacy.”

However, other Romanian opposition politicians also criticized the court's decisionclaiming that Sosoaka's removal is a wake-up call doubts about the democratic nature of the procedures. Some suggested that it was “the dream of (Prime Minister) Marcel Ciolacu”, who is also running in the elections.
