Firefighters were called again to a reed bed fire on an island in Międzyodrze, in the town of Siadło Dolne (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). Aircraft were used to extinguish the fire, from which drops were made. We received recordings of the smoking reed beds on Kontakt24.
On Friday at approximately 6 p.m. another report was received about a fire in reed beds in the village of Siadło Dolne.
– Several dozen ares are burning. Two boats and four teams are taking part in the incident, including Kołbaskowo, Smolęcin, Police and Śmierdnica. Two planes are making drops – informed on Friday Senior Brigadier Przemysław Grzybowski, press officer of the District Fire Department Headquarters in Police. The operation was finally completed after 8 p.m. As reported by the firefighter, 4 hectares of reed beds were burning.
Planes and boats back in action
The press officer reported that the day before in Siadło Dolne, 40 hectares of reed beds with trees burned down. He added that the size of the burnt area on Thursday was estimated by the State Forests using a drone. Initially, it was assumed that the area was much smaller.

On Thursday, the report of the flames was received at around 4:35 p.m. Firefighters tried to get near the flames using a boat, and two State Forests planes were used in the operation. The fire was extinguished after 8 p.m.
