The investigation into the causes of the sinking of the yacht is still ongoing. It will take place not only in Italy. The British coroner officially opened the proceedings in early October. Initially, it was suspected that the crew may not have closed hatches or watertight doors before the storm. However, according to information provided by divers participating in the rescue operation, they were closed.
