Dominik A., according to investigators, drove into the opposite lane at very high speed and collided head-on with a Mercedes. The passenger who was traveling with him did not survive the accident, and the passenger from the other car was seriously injured. The District Prosecutor's Office in Siedlce submitted an indictment to the court regarding an accident that occurred on June 29 last year on Warszawska Street. According to investigators, Dominik A. was driving a Honda that day and at some point he drove into the opposite lane, “leading to a collision with a Mercedes passenger car traveling from the opposite direction.”

The prosecutor's office reported that the passenger who was traveling with A died in the accident. In turn, the passenger of the Mercedes, which was driving correctly, suffered injuries that “caused disruption of the functions of her body organs for a period exceeding seven days.”

“Dominik A. got out of the car on his own and then left the scene. However, until he was stopped by the police patrol, he was accompanied by witnesses who prevented the accused from successfully escaping,” we read further in the prosecutor's statement.

The opinion of a road traffic expert shows that the sole cause of the accident was “grossly incorrect behavior of the driver of a Honda car, Dominik A., consisting of driving without due caution at a speed much higher than the permissible speed.”

Speed, alcohol and driving ban

Investigators determined that the vehicle driven by A. at the time of the incident “was moving at a speed of not less than 121 kilometers per hour, which resulted in the accused losing control of the vehicle, driving onto the half of the road intended for vehicles traveling in the opposite direction and colliding with a driver driving correctly.” “Mercedes”.

It was also established that Dominik A. was intoxicated. The opinion shows that the concentration of ethyl alcohol in the accused's blood at the time of the incident was 0.86 per mille.

Dominik A. will appear in court for causing a fatal road accident while under the influence of alcohol and escaping from the scene of the accident, as well as for violating a court driving ban. He faces up to 12 years in prison.

In this case, A. remains under temporary arrest.
