Smoke above the reserve showed them the way

Policemen from Otwock (Mazowieckie) noticed smoke floating above the nature reserve. On the spot, they found a man who in a specially protected area of ​​Natura 2000 lit a bonfire and fished fish.

In the published communiqué, officers ensure that thanks to the newly acquired quads they regularly patrol areas inaccessible to police cars. During such a patrol, they noticed smoke floating above the reserve.

“Mandates and cases in courts”

On the spot, the officers found a man who lit a bonfire and fished fish. Garbage was crazy around the hearth. The lack of a fishing card allowing fishing in the designated waters of the Polish Fishing Association was not the only offense of the 70-year-old.

“Policemen informed the man that he committed offenses against the Act on nature protection, and the case would be referred to the team for the offense of the Otwock unit” – informs the subcommittee Patryk Domaracki, from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Otwock.

The bans are regularly broken in the Zawadowskie Islands reserve, located along the Vistula at the height of Józefów and Konstancin Jeziorna. It is a place of nesting and feeding of rare bird species and a refuge of water animals. It also has landscape values ​​and, unfortunately, many people focus only on them, forgetting animals.

In September, we described how two young people It entered the off -road car onto a sandy rag, then near the riverbed, take pictures. Policemen and representatives of the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Warsaw intervened in this matter.

“The reserve regularly conducts patrols by the volunteers of the National Society for the Protection of Birds who educate, explaining why the presence of people in the reserve is such a serious threat to the nature of this place. Unfortunately, not everyone is ready to give up the pleasure of walking in favor of nature protection” – inform officials.

For animals living in a protected area, the threat is not only the presence of people and vehicles, but also freely running dogs.
