A dangerous situation occurred on Saturday in Szczecin. The police noticed a boy running between cars, and he was not wearing clothes appropriate to the temperature. The officers immediately stopped traffic on the street and took care of the child.
The boy told them that he had gone to the store without his parents' knowledge or consent. The police went to his apartment but found no one. However, they quickly found the 7-year-old's mother, who was staying with a neighbor. The woman saw nothing wrong with her son being home alone.
The case was referred to the Family and Juvenile Court
The officers had a different opinion and prepared documentation regarding the lack of proper care of the child. It was referred to the Family and Juvenile Court, which will take further legal steps in the matter.
– We appeal to parents to be responsible in caring for their children. Even a brief moment of inattention can lead to serious consequences, said the police spokeswoman.
