The Securities Exchange in Thailand suspended all transactions in connection with the earthquake in the neighboring Burma. The shocks were also felt in the capital of Thailand and Bangkok. One of the skyscrapers collapsed in the city.
“In connection with the earthquake, the securities exchange in Thailand hereby announces the immediate suspension of all commercial activities,” it was announced on the websites of the stock exchange.
“The closure applies to the afternoon session of all markets, including Set, Market for Alternative Investment (Mai) and Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX)” – we read.

The benchmark index setted before suspension of transactions by 1.05 percent, reaching a weekly minimum of 1,175.45 points. The course oscillated around this level by most sessions. Analysts paid attention to the impact of the American decision to impose duties on a foreign automotive industry.
