Heavy snowfall triggered a massive avalanche in the mountains in the US state of Utah. It was captured on video. The snow reached the nearby road and it was closed for several hours.

The avalanche occurred on Saturday in the Little Cottonwood Canyon area. A layer of snow covered a nearby state road. The driver, who was on the road, recorded the moment of the avalanche.

A section of the road was closed for snow removal and safety work, which usually involves deliberately triggering controlled landslides. Skiers, snowboarders and anyone else heading that way were stuck for several hours.
