The bear attacked the antlers collector in the Moscow region. According to local media, the man survived because he pretended to be dead. The wounded went to the hospital with serious head and face injuries.
According to local media, the incident occurred in the forest near Krasnogorskie, about 125 kilometers from Moscow. On Thursday, a 29-year-old resident of one of the surrounding villages went to the forest to collect deer and elk antlers.
The man had no arms with him. At some point, a bear jumped out of the scrubs, who threw himself at the collector. The animal had gone from behind, biting and a blow to his head. When he fell to the ground, the predator turned him on his back and bite his face.
“He bit his skull, then turned him and tried to bite his face,” said the victim's relative in an interview with local media. – He broke his whole skin on the back of his head, pulled his ears, ripped his skin off his nose – he added.
He pretended to be dead
The man most likely survived the attack, pretending to be the dead. When the bear stopped being interested in him, the wounded called the emergency services and waited for the rescue. The services managed to find him within a few hours, after which the collector was taken with a helicopter to the hospital. His condition is described as serious.
The Russian media reported that the collector probably came across a female with the young. The man could accidentally approach the animals too close, which the bear took as a threat to the young and attacked to defend them.
