10 people detained on Wednesday in the investigation regarding the activities of an organized criminal group, whose aim was to commit criminal and fiscal offenses related to organizing random games, heard allegations-said Katarzyna Calaów-Jaszewska from the press team of the National Prosecutor's Office on Thursday evening. In the same investigation, 10 other people heard the allegations earlier, including YouTuber “Buddha”.
She added that the prosecutor announced the suspected allegations of participation in an organized criminal group, which aimed to organize collective participation in random games, which are in fact gambling.
– moreover, the allegations relate to acts consisting in the depletion of the Treasury's receivables under VAT In connection with the issue of unreliable invoices that did not document real economic events and misleading tax authorities in order to avoid paying and reducing taxes due to the State Treasury – noted Katarzyna Calaów -Jaszewska.
Among those who heard the allegations are sports and automotive journalists, participants and organizers of mixed combat sports and influencers (Sebastian K., Adam K., Michał P., Michał B., Wojciech G., Krzysztof R., Adam Z., Szymon K., Robert M. and Lexy C.) and TVN Turbo journalist Adam K. and YouTuber Boxdel.
As explained by Katarzyna Calaów-Jaszewska, these people “operated to obtain revenues from the sale of fate and derive profits resulting from the use of a 5 % VAT rate, while the rate of 23 percent of VAT was appropriate for sales, which in consequence led to the reduction of tax duties.”
According to the prosecutor's office, they benefited from the crimes committed in the amount of over PLN 20 million.
– the allegation of money laundering is related to the creation of legal appearances economic activity and the transfer of money between the accounts belonging to persons covered by the proceedings, in order to hide the actual origin of these funds, as well as creating the untruth of accounting documentation – explained the prosecutor Calów -Jaszewska.
The allegations covered the period of the group's activity from 2021 to at least January 31, 2024.
All suspects did not confess to committing the alleged acts and made explanations partly in accordance with the established facts.
– Freedom preventive measures were applied to all suspects in the form of: property guarantees in amounts from PLN 200,000 to PLN 1 million, police supervisors and prohibitions in contact with other people – the prosecutor emphasized.

On Wednesday, officers of the Central Police Investigation Bureau and the National Tax Administration detained 10 people in the investigation regarding the lottery on the Internet, in which the allegations were heard by, among others Kamil L. known as a Buddha.
The service took place near Warsaw, in Poznań, Łódź, as well as in the province. Świętokrzyskie, Kuyavian-Pomeranian and Lower Silesia.
Press spokeswoman for the head of the National Tax Administration of the Academy of Fine Arts. Justyna Pasieczyńska reported on Thursday that a dozen or so locations were searched, accounting documentation, electronic equipment and data carriers were secured.
– At the request of the Head of the West Pomeranian Customs and Tax Office in Szczecin, in cooperation with the Inspector of Financial Information, about six million zlotys was blocked on bank accounts. The services secured cars, cash, jewelry and watches with a total value of about PLN 5.5 million – she added.
In turn, the prosecutor Calów-Jaszewska reported on Thursday evening that 30 bank accounts belonging to the suspects and the companies they represent were looked at for a total amount of PLN 7.5 million, as well as property in the form of: 17 cars, jewelry and watches and cash in the amount of PLN 500,000 were secured.
Earlier, allegations for 10 people, including “Buddha”
Known YouTuber “Buddha” – Kamil L. and nine other people, including his partner, had already heard the allegations earlier extorting tax on goods and services and organizing illegal gambling games – lottery on the Internet. They did not plead guilty.
