From Friday Iga ¦wiatek (1st WTA) has no coach. It was then that Iga announced the end of cooperation with Tomasz Wiktorowski. This duo has worked together for the last three seasons. “Coach Wiktorowski joined my team three seasons ago, when I really needed changes and a fresh approach. His experience, analytical and strategic approach and extensive knowledge of tennis made me achieve successes that I had never even dreamed of, a few months later,” Świątek wrote in a statement published on social media.

Recently, Świątek did not play in the WTA 500 tournaments in Seoul, WTA 1000 in Beijing and WTA 1000 in Wuhan. Paula Wolecka, Świątek's PR manager, announced that Iga will take part in the WTA Finals tournament. – Finals are planned for the end of this season. The Billie Jean King Cup remains an open issue, no decision has been made yet – explained Wolecka.

Łukasz Jachimiak, a journalist at Sport.pl, informed that Świątek's temporary coach is Tomasz Moczek, her current sparring partner. According to information from our journalist, the favorite to become Świątek's new coach is the Belgian Wim Fissette. Wolecka also revealed that Dawid Celt, captain of the Polish national team in the Billie Jean King Cup, is helping Świątek prepare for the WTA Finals.

The former tennis player spoke directly about the Świątek-Celt cooperation. “This could make things easier”

TVP Sport talked to Paula Kania-Choduń, former Polish tennis player. In her opinion, Świątek's cooperation with Celt is a good choice. – Dawid has a lot of experience. His wife is Agnieszka Radwańska. They know how to win big, important tournaments. The fact that Polish will continue to dominate in direct communication may make things easier. I wonder if it will be a longer cooperation between Iga and Dawid, or just preparation for the WTA Finals – she said.

Kania-Choduń also referred to the fact that Świątek's temporary coach is Tomasz Moczek, her sparring partner. – They know each other like bald horses. Tomasz knows perfectly well what Iga needs. By riding with Iga, he gained valuable experience and learned a lot. Strictly tennis-wise, he can bring a lot of good to Świątek's game. And in the long run… I think that Iga will aim to hire a trainer who knows how to win the most important titles. It's not mandatory, but it would be good. The contact between coach and player is different than in other disciplines. Relationships are more friendly, added the former tennis player.

What does he think about Świątek's decision to break up with Wiktorowski? – I assume there was no chaos there. Perhaps such a move has been planned for a long time and for Iga it is nothing that could surprise her. We observe everything from the sidelines and can only guess at many things. Not much information is coming out of the Świątek team. Iga is already such an experienced player, with such a good team and staff around her, that she definitely made the right decision. True to herself, Kania-Choduń summed up.

This year's edition of the WTA Finals will be held on November 2-9 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Apart from Świątek, he already has a certain participation in the final tournament Aryna Sabalenka (2nd WTA).
