We see how it rings the skin from his hand, as if he were taking off the glove. As if we were there. The field that watched the film at school has been washed with cold water for months, recently she brewed water for tea for the first time. – I feel how he accelerates my heart rate and pounds my heart. Everything around becomes too intense – sounds, lights, people. At first I didn't know what was happening to me. Now I know that these are panic attacks – says fields, a student of the eighth grade.

– Sometimes I get great fear, such anxiety and a feeling that someone will kill me and hurt me. That something very bad will happen soon. My body then tightens. I enter a state of full readiness – I analyze everything around, react to every move, sound. When it passes, I'm completely exhausted – says the girl.

She heard from a psychologist that what she was experiencing was “derealization”. There are also moments of “dissociation”.

– I touch items, but I don't feel them. Everything seems unreal. My body was not one of me. Everything is like a glass. This was the case, for example, when I was passing by a tank monument on vacation and suddenly I remembered a scene from the Warsaw Uprising – describes the 14 -year -old.

Where does the teenager “remember” the scene from the uprising? And what made him struggle with mental problems?

In November 2023, fields, then 13-year-old, took part in the project of Minister Przemysław Czarnek “Innovative history-modern technologies in the education service”. She and tens of thousands of students, as part of the lesson, for over 40 minutes, watched historical films in virtual reality. And even if the fields suffered so severely after watching them, it is still one child too much. But specialists have no doubt: children with mental injury after lessons in VR and their painful for health and life consequences can be much more.
