The teaser for the second season of “The Last of Us” has just been released. The date is not accidental – September 26 or 27, depending on the time zone, is considered in the film to be the day on which the global pandemic that destroyed civilization began. The new season will premiere in 2025, and all its episodes will be available on the Max streaming platform.
“The Last of Us” is the record-breaking and most watched HBO production in 2023. The series is an adaptation of the best-selling computer game from 2013, written and produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman, who was also one of the game's authors. The first season was hailed as “the best video game adaptation ever made.” He received as many as 24 nominations for the prestigious Emmy Awards.
The second season of “The Last of Us”, based on the second part of the game, is scheduled to be released to viewers in 2025. Shooting for it is already underway, and HBO has just prepared a surprise for viewers – the first teaser of the new production has been shown.

What will the second season of “The Last of Us” be about? The action takes place 5 years after the events of the first installment of the series. Ellie and Joel try to find their way in the new reality. When they think that the worst is behind them, the past does not let them forget about it, and the world they have to face seems even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.
The cast of the second season includes Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ella, Gabriel Luna as Tommy and Rutina Wesley as Maria. The series debuts of Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tat Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny and Jeffrey Wright as Issac. Catherine O'Hara will also guest star on the series.
The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television. Executive producers are Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O'Connor, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan. The series was produced by PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog.
