Jarosław Kaczyński said that there are plans to merge PiS and Sovereign Poland. – This is currently being taken into consideration very seriously – he added.

On Friday at the press conference the president of PiS referred to the decision of the National Electoral Commission to reject the party's financial report from the 2023 parliamentary elections. Kaczyński appealed to supporters for contributions, and Vice-President Mariusz Błaszczak announced that “PiS MPs will support the party financially through donations starting in September”. MPs and senators are to pay PLN 1,000 per month, and MEPs PLN 5,000.

During Friday's conference, the PiS chairman pointed out that “the largest sum of these (questioned by the National Electoral Commission) 3.6 million is 2.6 million” and refers to a spot prepared in the Ministry of Justice during the time of Zbigniew Ziobro regarding the amendment to the Penal Code and the tightening of penalties, which was broadcast during the election campaign.

Kaczyński was then asked whether politicians from Sovereign Poland would also be obliged to make payments.

– As far as Sovereign Poland is concerned, we constitute one parliamentary club, and I believe that these obligations will also apply to them, and they will accept it – said Kaczyński.

– All the more so because there are also plans to merge the parties. The only question is when. Now in September, at the end of September or a bit later. But in any case, this is currently being taken very seriously – said the PiS chairman.
