The Olympic Games in Paris have been going on for a few days. The competition has already started among others in football. During this time there was a great confusion and sensation – Argentina lost 1:2 to Morocco. However, the official opening of the games was planned for Friday, July 26. And precisely at 19:30 the ceremony began. The organizers wanted it to be different from the previous ones, and above all to be more spectacular. And it seems that they managed to achieve this goal.

The first difference was that the opening ceremonies of the games were held in a stadium. This time, they decided to use iconic places in France and the Seine River. In this way, the organizers wanted to show that sport is closer to people. And it must be said that they did it with proverbial pomp.
From the very beginning, there were plenty of attractions for the spectators. Blue, white and red flares were fired on one of the bridges. These are of course the colours of the host of the games, France. The most important figures were also welcomed, including the country's president Emmanuel Macron. The Olympic flame was also shown, which was heading on a boat towards the Eiffel Tower. This is where the torch is to be fired.
Then, one by one, the next delegations sailed across on barges. In the meantime, the entire ceremony was enriched by concerts by big stars. These included Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura. It must be admitted that they gave the audience a great show.
There was also no shortage of local accents. The artists danced, among other things, a popular dance in France – the cancan. The anthem of the “Tricolours”, “La Marseillaise”, was also sung effectively. This was done by Axelle Saint-Cirel standing on the roof of the Grand-Palais. – I am increasingly impressed by what the organizers have prepared – said one of the Eurosport commentators.
Now we have a sports competition ahead of us. On Saturday, July 27, many Poles will take to the arena of competition. Among others, Iga Świątek, who will start her adventure with the Olympics with a clash with Irina-Camelia Begu.
