Israeli Defense Minister Joav Galant was dismissed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to loss of trust, the prime minister's office said on Tuesday.
Israeli media have been speculating for months about the dismissal of Joav Galant, who is perceived as the biggest opponent Benjamin Netanyahu in the government and the only minister who openly opposed him.

Galant will be replaced by the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Israel Kac, and Gideon Saar, who until now was a minister without portfolio, will become the head of diplomacy.
