What happened: On January 9, the Sejm adopted a bill on the National Day of Home Army Soldiers. The formation was established on February 14, 1942. 429 MPs voted in favor of the actno one was against or abstained from voting. As it turns out, however, a document it is not expected to be a day off from work.
Where did this idea come from: A bill on this matter was submitted to the Sejm on December 18 by MPs from the Civic Coalition. The National Home Army Soldiers Day is intended to serve commemoration volunteer army of the Polish Underground State and paying tribute to several hundred thousand Polish men and women who, as part of organized structures, fought heroically against the German occupier.
