Kotwica Kołobrzeg is this year's Betclic 1st League newcomer. After 14 rounds, they are in 12th place with 14 points. In the last two months, Kotwica won only once, and today they were eliminated from the Polish Cup, losing at home to Puszcza Niepołomice 0:1. The sports crisis is not the club's only problem.
A dispute between Kotwica's players and the president over money
Kotwica Kołobrzeg has financial debts to repay, and its situation is so bad that it made an absurd attempt to collect money from former players. Meanwhile, present players teams from Western Pomerania have not received salaries for almost three months, and they have not received any bonuses due. The club is not the only one in arrears with payments. As revealed on Twitter by a West Pomeranian specialist ballsNorbert Skórzewski, “The club also does not settle agents, and the debts are piling up day by day.”
The issue of players' insurance is also a problem. Kotwica's players were insured by president Adam Dzik as office workers, so in the event of an injury they will receive little money. Buying football insurance is “overpaying” for Dzik and he won't do it.
“The situation is that the entire team is not insured with football insurance. Adam Dzik insured everyone in the company as office workers. Therefore, they are not entitled to compensation for typical football-related, serious injuries. When a player fails, he gets pennies. At one point, one of the insurers offered Dzik a typical football package, only he would have to pay PLN 60,000 for the entire team per year. Dzik said that for him it was overpaying and he wouldn't do it. So when playing in Kotwica, you have to watch out for serious injuries, because then the problems begin,” Skórzewski said on social media.
The players are fed up with this situation, so they have submitted demands for payment of the outstanding money. Otherwise, some of them will file for termination of the contract due to the club's fault. Dzik, on the other hand, does not seem to be willing to talk about outstanding salaries. According to Skórzewski, he threatens the players that no one will get a penny.
“Adam Dzik suggests to the players that if they continue to demand money, he will eventually declare the club bankrupt and no one will get anything,” Skórzewski said.
Interestingly, coach Ryszard Tarasiewicz and his staff receive remuneration on time.
Earlier, Dzik allegedly suggested to the coaches not to include in the starting lineup the players who demanded the loudest money. Mid October football players they were supposed to meet with the president and talk about Kotwica's financial situation. Dzik did not show up at the meeting. The situation is becoming more and more of a farce.
The boar requires immediate improvement results. He was supposed to talk to coaches about the situation and results in the league. It can be assumed that Tarasiewicz's job is in danger.
On Saturday, Kotwica will return to competition in the Betclic 1st League. He will play at home against Odra Opole.
