Iga Świątek (2. WTA) goes like a storm through the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. She lost only six games in three matches so far. She defeated: Caroline Garcia (71. WTA) 6: 2, 6: 0; Dajana Jastremska (46. WTA) 6: 0, 6: 2 and Karolina Muchova (15. WTA) 6: 1, 6: 1.
– I tactically did everything I should. From the beginning I entered with such certainty that I did not let Karolina enter the match – She spoke Świątek after winning the match in the fourth round against Muchova. In the quarter -finals, Qinwen Zheng (9th WTA) became her rival.
The fans will not have to break down the night at the Iga Świątek match – Qinwen Zheng
During tournaments in the United States there is a considerable risk that the match will be played late in the evening or even at night of Polish time. In the case of Iga Świątek from Qinwen Zheng, we have very good news for fans, because the competition of both ladies will open the struggle on Thursday at the central court in Indian Wells. Thus, both on the court should appear at 19:00 Polish time.
The meeting of Świątek from Zheng in the quarter -finals in Indian Wells will be the seventh direct duel of both ladies. The current balance is six Polish wins and only one Chinese. Zheng, however, won their last, memorable meeting in the semi -final of the Paris Olympic Games 6: 2, 7: 5, and then reached for gold. Świątek had to be content with “only” the bronze medal.
– I have to draw conclusions from our last match and see how she is playing now, because some time has passed since we were playing the last time. I feel that I am coming back in shape and try to put pressure on my opponents – She said Świątek about the plan for “rematch” with Zheng.
