The Polish national team in football has been without a coach since June 12, because it was then that Michał Prdyk resigned from the selector's function. He was the third trainer, whom Cezary Kulesza employed from the chair of the PZPN president. His earlier elections were Fernando Santos and Czesław Michniewicz. Of these three, the Prdyk stayed in the position for the longest time – for over 20 months.

Most of the media as the main favorite for the role of the new team coach described Jan Urban, but in the meantime many new names appeared. Such as, for example, Adrian Siemieniec, Miroslav Klose or Gareth Southgate. Kulesza in an interview with WP SportoweFakty However, he appealed for peace. And he emphasized that he needed time to make a choice.
– I have already talked to a few trainers in my life. I know that fans would like to meet the new coach as soon as possible. I don't do it especially, but I don't want to make a mistake. What suddenly, it's a devil – said the president of PZPN.
Kulesza also admitted that he was in contact with Maciej Skorża, and that representatives of Miroslav Klose and Nenada Bjelica contacted the PZPN. “I confirm that their representatives contacted us on behalf of these trainers,” he said briefly. At the end of the 62-year-old was asked about what features he would look for with the new coach.
– The selector must free the players in the character so that the fight for every centimeter of the pitch appears. You can have weaker skills, but you can do a lot with commitment, good organization and willingness to fight – summed up Kulesza.
