Installation of the installation of several dozen Poznań hydrogen buses is underway – this is the result of a failure that occurred at the beginning of March. Some vehicles already make connections. Preliminary studies have confirmed that hydrogen pollution could have occurred.
At the beginning of March, the Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji in Poznań brought several hydrogen buses to the depot. Reason: On -board computers signaled the failure. “We assume that the situation was incidental”
The results of the fuel expertise, which Orlen commissioned. – Preliminary studies have confirmed that hydrogen pollution could have occurred in the production and logistics process. Currently supplied hydrogen meets all standards. Fuel is systematically delivered to points, and buses are successively restored to traffic. After the end of routine cleaning of the tanks, standard refueling at Orlen stations will be restored – said Mateusz Witczyński, spokesman for Orlen.
Witczyński reminded that Orlen has been providing hydrogen fuel for public transport in Poznań since June 2024, and in Poland since 2022 – so far we have not had any signals related to its quality. We assume that the situation was incidental, and the introduction of additional fuel quality testing standards will help avoid similar events in the future – added the spokesman.
