According to Greenlandic media, a young businessman will meet with local politicians supporting the island's independence. Trump Jr. plans to talk to the leader of the influential social democratic Siumut party, Erik Jensen, reports IAR, according to Greenlandic public broadcaster KNR.
Trump ambushes Greenland: Donald Trump on Truth Social announced the successful landing of his son and his representatives in Greenland. He wrote that the island and the “Free World” need security, protection, strength and peace, and added that this “a contract that must come to fruition.” The president-elect has been saying directly for several weeks that the US wants it take control of Greenland, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark. According to Trump, this is an “absolute necessity” for national security purposes. Greenland, with its Pituffik air base, is of strategic importance to the US early warning system rockets ballistic. During his first term in the White House, Trump wanted to buy Greenland from Denmark.
