As we read on website Ministry of Infrastructure, at the beginning of November the toll road network in Poland will be expanded from the current 3.6 thousand kilometers to 5.2 thousand kilometers. Most of the new tolled sections are extensions of currently tolled roads. However, the new tolls will also apply to the S17 and S19 expressways, as well as the S7 towards Gdańsk.

Toll rates will depend on the weight of the vehicles and the exhaust emission standard. Toll collection in the e-TOLL electronic system is carried out using a satellite system. Government estimates that this year the National Road Fund will receive PLN 190 million in new fees, and as much as PLN 1.2 billion next year.

The Ministry of Infrastructure announced changes in fees, explaining that the government had already planned it PiSwhich has committed to extending national road tolls as part of the milestones of the National Reconstruction Plan. This is about the E2.1 reform, i.e. increasing the competitiveness of the railway sector.

– The expansion of the toll road network is a continuation of the policy of including newly built roads in electronic tolls since 2011. The network has not been expanded since 2017, and since then time Many new sections of national roads – motorways and expressways – were put into operation in Poland – said Minister of Infrastructure Dariusz Klimczak. The politician explained that revenues from tolls for vehicles over 3.5 tons and buses go to the National Road Fund. It finances the construction of new roads and renovation of existing networks.
