In Toruń, a passenger car drove under a tram, which fell off the rails as a result of the impact. The driver ignored the red light. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
The incident took place on Friday after 4 p.m. at the Honorary Blood Donors Square in Toruń, in a place with circular traffic. The intersection is also equipped with traffic lights. When a tram is approaching, the light turns red and drivers are obliged to stop.
However, in this case this rule did not work. The driver did not stop, which resulted in her having the right of way, which in turn caused a collision. The impact force of the tram was so great that the vehicle fell off the rails and the car stopped on a pole.

The police are explaining the exact circumstances of this incident. – The driver of the passenger vehicle ignored the red traffic light and drove onto the tracks straight in front of the oncoming tram. The collision resulted in the derailment of the tram. No one was hurt as a result of this collision, said aspirant Dominika Bocian from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Toruń.
