Russian occupiers are transporting soldiers from North Korea to the front in trucks with civilian license plates, military intelligence in Kiev reported. The service refers to an intercepted conversation between two Russian officers who tried to explain why the military police stopped one of such trucks on the Kursk-Voronezh route.

Military intelligence in Kiev reported on Sunday that on that day, Russian military police stopped a Kamaz truck carrying North Korean soldiers at one of the points on the Kursk-Voronezh route. A radio conversation between two officers intercepted and published by Ukrainian intelligence shows that they were surprised by this fact.

“Omega, answer me, do you have a Kamaz with registration number 497? And the driver, Andrei Sveredenko?” – asks one of the officers. His interlocutor replies: “Sveredenko? Wait… Kamaz… yes, I have it, but the number 497 is three numbers, it means a civilian number. Where did they stop him?” – he asks.

Later, the interlocutors decide that the matter should be clarified. When asked about the truck, the Russian is asked to contact the deputy commander for technical matters. During the conversation, he replies that the deputy commander “already replied to him” and that “the matter has been resolved.” The conversation shows that the deputy commander “helps transport North Korean soldiers.”

No documentation

Ukrainian intelligence reported that the truck was discussed by staff officers of the 810th Independent Marine Brigade, for which North Korean support was intended. The interlocutors tried to determine whether their unit actually had Kamaz number 497 and why the driver did not have the appropriate documentation.

“The Russians determined that the truck actually belonged to the occupation army and helped transport soldiers from North Korea,” military intelligence in Kiev said.

500 officers and three generals

On Thursday, Ukrainian intelligence reported that the first North Korean soldiers were sent to the Kursk Oblast, where an offensive by Ukrainian forces has been ongoing since August this year.

Intelligence reported that Kim Jong Un's 12,000-strong army includes 500 officers and three generals.

On Friday, the president Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced that on October 27-28, the first North Korean soldiers will be deployed by the Russians to combat zones.

As South Korean intelligence previously determined, the regime in Pyongyang sent about three thousand soldiers to the Russian Far East, and at least 10,000 are expected to arrive there by the end of this year.
