Radoslaw Sikorski appeared in Kiev on Friday morning to participate in talks with, among others, with his Ukrainian counterpart Andriy Sybiha. As reported by the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the meeting, the following issues were also raised: Issues related to exhumation victims of the Volhynia crime.
– We are friends as a country and as ministers, friends. We talk about everything, even the difficult things.We have to talk the truth about the crime Volhynia, as well as other mutual acts. And at the same time choose a common safe future. We are ready to discuss this – he said.
– The issue of exhuming the victims of the Volhynian crime should not be treated as a political matter or a subject of some kind of bargaining. 100,000 people died. The remains of these people demand a Christian burial. This is an obligation, not a political issue.. This is part of the European canon of values, to which Ukraine should, he added.

The issue of exhuming the victims of the Volhynian crime was one of many raised during closed meeting of Radosław Sikorski and Andriy Sybiha. One of the most important issues for Ukrainians was the possibility of additional packages of military equipment that could reach soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
– Today we discussed further defense cooperation and key steps allies need to take to strengthen Ukraine. There should be no restrictions on Ukraine's exercise of its right to self-defense.neither in the case of long-range weapons nor in attacks on legitimate targets on the territory Russia. Dear Radek, I really appreciate that you and I have similar opinions here – said the head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the press conference, Radosław Sikorski stated that one of the topics currently being discussed is the possibility of transferring Polish aircraft of Soviet production to Ukraine.
– We are considering the possibility of delivering additional batches of equipment, including possibly MiG-29 aircraft, which are needed today to protect the Polish sky – he admitted, adding that the decision could be made faster if the allies committed to help patrol Polish airspace.

On the subject of military equipment delivered from Poland to Ukraine, Radosław Sikorski also mentioned tanks and gun-howitzers, which were passed on from the first days of the full-scale war.
On this occasion, the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentioned the use of Polish machines during the Ukrainian offensive on Kursk Oblast.
– We have delivered about 400 tanks to Ukraine so far PT-91 Twardy, some of them, I hear, are also already fighting in the Kursk region. We have delivered 50 Krab self-propelled gun-howitzers, Piorun portable anti-aircraft missile systems and anti-aircraft defence elements – said Sikorski.
– Poland also supports Ukraine in ensuring its energy security. This is a priority in the context of the upcoming autumn and winter.when the needs exceed the capabilities of the energy sector damaged by Russian attacks, he added.
