My presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden's presidency, Vice President Kamala Harris said on right-wing Fox News. In her first career interview with this station, she assured that she “represents a new generation of leaders.” She also answered questions about immigration and foreign policy and the “mental fitness” of the current US leader.

– I want to make it clear that my presidency will not be a continuation of Joe Biden's presidency, and like every new president who takes office, I will bring my life and professional experiences as well as fresh and new ideas. I represent a new generation of leaders, said Kamala Harris.

The Democratic candidate in the upcoming presidential elections also promised that she would accept suggestions from Republicans who support her, pointing to her economic program, which includes, among other things, supporting the construction of new homes and small businesses.

“Biden is not running for election”

During a half-hour conversation on a pro-Donald Trump station, Harris answered questions including: on immigration, President Biden's mental state, and foreign policy. She often tried to avoid answering directly the questions of inquisitive journalist Brett Baier, who interrupted her.

Referring to the cases of murders of young women by illegal immigrants, Harris emphasized that she was sorry. At the same time, she accused Donald Trump of torpedoing the bipartisan project of border restrictions and of not wanting to solve the immigration problem but using it in the campaign. – I'm not proud to say this is a perfect immigration system. “I was clear that it was broken and that it needed to be fixed,” she admitted.

When asked about President Joe Biden's mental fitness, she said that the incumbent president has the appropriate judgment and experience to make important decisions. However, she added that Biden was not running in the elections and noted that voters should be alarmed by the condition of the “unbalanced” – in her opinion – Donald Trump.

Harris also accused the station of manipulation when it broadcast Trump's truncated statement about “domestic enemies” during the interview.

Responding to a question about her earlier statement that she considered Iran to be America's greatest adversary, Harris said she maintained her “unwavering” commitment to ensuring that Israel is able to defend itself against an attack by Iran and its accomplices. She also accused Trump of contributing to instability in the region by withdrawing from the nuclear deal with Iran.

Harris's interview on Fox News – her first appearance on the station – was part of an effort to attract Republican voters reluctant to Donald Trump.

As Reuters recalled, earlier this month, former Republican Party congresswoman Liz Cheney, daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, urged voters to put country over party and vote for Harris because, as Liz Cheney said, Trump is “not fit to lead the United States.” .

Republican support for Harris

Just before the Fox News interview, the Democratic candidate appeared at a rally in Pennsylvania in the company of hundreds of Republican politicians supporting her, during which she praised former Vice President Mike Pence and presented Trump as a threat to the Constitution and democracy in the US. At Washington Crossing in Philadelphia's northern suburbs, she tried to emphasize her bipartisan support.

The vice president said that what was at stake in the election was the US Constitution, which Trump had betrayed when he tried to reverse the results of the election he lost. She praised former Vice President Mike Pence, who, despite the pressure from his superior and threats from Trump supporters, did not refuse to certify the election results on January 6, 2021.

“If it weren't for Vice President Pence's courage and patriotism that day, Donald Trump might actually have succeeded in overturning the will of the American people,” Harris said. “Now Donald Trump is telling us how he plans to use his power if re-elected, he has declared that the greatest threat America faces is, quote, 'the enemy within,'” she added. In this way, she recalled the statements of Trump, who repeatedly said that the left and democrats were a greater threat than Russia and China, and recently suggested that if protests occurred on Election Day, the “internal enemy” should be dealt with by the military.

“Trump is increasingly unstable”

– Trump is increasingly unstable and unbalanced and seeks unlimited power. “Consider what his closest advisors, his national security adviser, two secretaries of defense, his former chief of staff, his own vice president, who warned America that Donald Trump was unfit to serve,” Harris said.

– Listen to General Milley, the highest-ranking general appointed by Donald Trump. He called Trump, quote, “fascist to the core” and said that “no one has ever been so dangerous to this country,” she added, quoting passages from the new book “War” by Bob Woodward.

The rally in Pennsylvania was another attempt by the Democratic candidate to attract some opposition voters. About a hundred Republican politicians supported her, including former longtime congressman Adam Kinzinger and Georgia Lieutenant Governor Geoff Duncan.
