Billionaire and entrepreneur Elon Musk will perform at Donald Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday, the team of the Republican candidate for US president announced on Friday. The rally will mark Trump's return to the site of the failed attempt on his life in July.
“President Donald J. Trump will return to Pennsylvania to participate in a rally on the same ground where he was shot for democracy less than three months ago,” the Republican's campaign said on Friday. The list of special guests of the event has also been published. It included, among others: Elon Musk and family members of Corey Comperatore, who was killed by the gunman during the fatal July 14 rally.
Musk confirmed his presence with an entry on the X website. “I will be there to support,” he wrote.
Musk's support for Trump
The CEO of Tesla and co-founder of other huge American companies openly announced his support for Trump shortly after the Butler attackthis will be the first joint public appearance with the Republican Party candidate for president. The billionaire has been supporting Republicans for a long time, although in the Republican primaries he supported Trump's rival, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Recently, Musk has significantly increased his campaign donations, declaring that he will pay PLN 45 million a month for this purpose. The head of Tesla supported Trump, although the Republican candidate has repeatedly criticized electric cars and regulations promoting them.
The owner of the X platform (formerly Twitter) also devotes many of his posts on social media to the election campaign, claiming, among other things, that a Kamala Harris victory would mean the end of democracy, or baselessly suggesting that Democrats are bringing in immigrants and offering them a fast-track to citizenship to gain their votes.
Trump also announced that if he wins the election, he will bet Muska heads the special commission (called the state efficiency commission) to develop a budget cuts plan.
