The FBI, CIA and New York police facilitated the assassination of Malcolm X, claims the family of the leader of the movement fighting for equal rights for African Americans. The decision to file the lawsuit was announced at the New York memorial center, which stands on the site where the murder took place.
Malcolm X's family sued the FBI CIA and the New York City Police Department, accusing them of enabling his murder nearly 60 years ago.
The lawsuit by Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz and other members of his family says that law enforcement agencies withheld evidence that they knew about the plot to kill him but did nothing to prevent his murder.
“We believe they all conspired to assassinate Malcolm X, who was one of the greatest intellectual leaders of the 20th century,” a lawyer specializing in… human rights Ben Crump, who represents the family.
The decision to file a lawsuit was announced at the New York memorial center, located on the site where Malcolm X was murdered. According to the lawyer, the trial is expected to provide answers to questions about the assassination of Malcolm

Malcolm X gained fame as a spokesman for the separatist African-American movement the Nation of Islam, but after 10 years – in 1964 – he broke with this group and softened some of his earlier views on racial separatism. This angered some members of the Nation of Islam and he received death threats.
One of the three killers, Talmadge Hayer, who was then a member of the Nation of Islam, pleaded guilty in court. However, speculations persisted that the government may have known about the assassination plan and allowed it to happen.
Malcom X was killed on February 21, 1965, as he prepared to speak at a rally. His daughter, who was two years old at the time, and her mother were present.
