The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced that he had detained the judge of the Court of State Wisconsin Hannah Dugan, accusing her of making it difficult to arrest an immigrant from Mexico, who illegally crossed the border. Dugan was to oppose the arrest in the courtroom.
The head of the FBI Kash Patel wrote in the post on platform X that Dugan was to “deliberately mislead” ICE immigration service agents, who came to the courtroom to arrest an immigrant who illegally crossed the border. This one was to appear in court in a beating case. According to Patel – who deleted the entry shortly after – the judge's actions were to help a man avoid arrest.
“Fortunately, our agents caught the criminal chasing him on foot and since then he has been in custody (…) However, the obstruction of the case by the judge posed an increased threat to society,” he wrote.
This is the first known case of detention of a judge from the time of return Donald Trump to the White House.

According to the statements made in court by the FBI, the judge was to ask agents from the court building, and then let the man escape through the exit door used by lay judges.
As Washington Post writes, judges in various parts of the country criticized ICE practices to make immigration detention in court buildings, arguing that it discouraged this from the appearance of immigrants in courts as witnesses or victims of crime.
