Poland is a NATO ally, we will defend you because that is our duty, said one of Donald Trump's most trusted people in an interview with the correspondent of “Fakty” TVN, Marcin Wrona. Corey Lewandowski also emphasized that “the USA cannot be either the policeman or the banker of the world.”
Corey Lewandowski, one of Donald Trump's closest and most trusted associates – who was also the chief of staff of the Republican candidate in the 2016 elections – talked on Monday with the correspondent of “Fakty” TVN, Marcin Wrona.
He was asked about concerns raised in public about Trump's relationship with… Russia and questions about conversations between the Republican Party candidate and Vladimir Putin after leaving the White House.
As Marcin Wrona noted, it appears that Trump is skeptical about long-term aid for Ukraine. The journalist mentioned that there is concern in Poland that there may be a lack of support USA for Kiev if Trump won. At the same time, there are concerns about the security of our country.
– Poland is an ally NATOwe will defend you because this is our duty, Lewandowski said. – But there's something to remember. The US cannot be either the policeman or the banker of the world. American allies in Europe must do their part, he emphasized.

– We are a country that, for the first time since World War II, has made our debt equal to GDP because we spent too much. We have serious problems here, on the ground, that need to be solved, he noted.
Trump's former campaign manager and close associate pointed out that the current Republican presidential candidate “said that if he were president, Russia would never attack Ukraine.” – Moreover, when he becomes president again, this problem will be solved very quickly – he said.
In this context, he referred to the situation when – as he said – “President Ronald Reagan took over power from then-President Jimmy Carter. Iran at that moment he had a number of American hostages (…) When Reagan was sworn in in 1981, on the same day Iran released these hostages because it knew perfectly well that it would be a sharp player in the Oval Office. Russia knows about it too, he said.

Lewandowski also argued that “there is no better friend of Poland than Donald Trump.”
