During Thursday's event organized at the headquarters of the Polish Olympic Committee, many were surprised by the presence of the legendary journalist and sports commentator. Włodzimierz Szaranowicz has been avoiding the media and events recently. This happened after he finished working for the public broadcaster. In the upcoming Olympics, however, the journalist will be in constant contact with the press. He was given a unique function, which was heard during the oath ceremony. But that was not the only breakthrough for the famous commentator.
Włodzimierz Szaranowicz spoke at the oath ceremony. He mentioned his illness
The journalist received accreditation for the Olympic Games in Paris, and was also announced as the honorary press attaché of the Polish Olympic Committee. The audience did not hide their emotions and applause could be heard. A moment later, there was silence because of the journalist's speech. – I haven't touched the microphone for four years – he admitted Szaranowicz. While talking about the competition, the presenter suddenly lost the thread. It got a bit awkward, but the applause from the audience saved it. The journalist had to react. “Thank you. I'm finishing now,” he said from the stage. He added that he was going to the ceremony only as a spectator. Greater involvement is not possible due to a severe neurological disease.
I am aware of my health condition. I have been suffering from Parkinson's for four years.
– this is how the person concerned himself spoke about this disease in the media. The presenter of the night was happy to pose for photos, one of which you can see in our gallery.
Parkinson's disease can make reality difficult. Michael J. Fox knows that pain
Many world celebrities have to deal with this condition, for example: Michael J. Foxwho has been struggling with Parkinson's for over 30 years. He had to end his career due to disturbing symptoms of the disease. “I've always had a real knack for lines and memorization. I've had a few extreme situations where the last roles I played were really full of words. In both cases I had trouble with that” – quotes the actor “Daily Express”. Despite the adversity of fate, the star tries to infect his fans with optimism. “If you think you have nothing to be grateful for, keep looking. Because optimism is not something you just get. You can't wait for everything to be fine and then be grateful for it,” the aforementioned medium quotes Fox as saying.
