“If we are silent, give way and compromise, then the tormentor will become more aggressive,” said the diplomat during talks in Rio de Janeiro, which was quoted by China Daily.

Appeal for the protection of “basic values and principles”
The minister cited in the Note of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to BRICS countries for joint opposition to “US protectionism” and “Maintaining a multilateral trade system based on the principles, with the World Trade Organization (WTO) in the center”.
He also emphasized the need to protect “basic values and principles” of this system and to promote liberalization and facilitating trade.
