Military expert Vladislav Seleniov spoke about the current front situation in the southwest of Donbas on the RBK.Ukraina website. According to the analyst, with the current progress of the Russians there is no way to maintain the city and the command is aware of it.

– We have practically no possibility of maintaining units in Kurachów. If we ask ourselves what is more important – the lives of soldiers or the territory – we have to bet on our lives, he said.
– There is a very big threat. Kurachowe is already 70 percent surroundedmaybe more. I assume that the period of stay of our troops there is counted in weeks. Provided that the situation does not change radically on our side or on the Russian side, he added.
According to Selezniov, in the case of this region of the front we are dealing with a repeat of the situation from Wuhledar and SelidówRussian units also tried to launch simultaneous attacks from several sides, which ultimately led to the withdrawal of Ukrainian soldiers.
– Even moving serious reinforcements to this area unlikely to change the situation – he concluded.

The expert expressed hope that the Ukrainian command has already decided to withdraw units from the most threatened territory.
– There are almost no paved roads there anymore. Today, logistics are very difficult in this “pocket”. If we don't withdraw the troops, we will probably we will not be able to stabilize the situation in any way – he explained.
