On the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising, an honorary airborne flight will take place over the capital. It will consist of four F16s and a Hercules. – They will pay tribute to the Warsaw insurgents – emphasized Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized on Wednesday at a joint press conference with the Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski and the director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum Jan Ołdakowski that “the Polish Army has stood, stands and will always stand with those who built the great history of Poland, who built great heroic deeds.”
Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that the Air Force wants to honor the Warsaw insurgents. – There will be an honorary flyover of the Air Force; four F16 planes and the Hercules, which is behind us, will pay tribute to the Warsaw insurgents in an honorary flyover of Warsaw – said the minister.
He added that they will also pay tribute to 147 Allied pilots. – The Republic of Poland, Great Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia and South Africa – these countries from August 4 to September 22 (1944 – ed.) made airdrops of necessary medicines, ammunition, weapons, equipment and food – said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The Minister also drew attention to the involvement of soldiers in these ceremonies. – This is a huge number of soldiers. I thank our commanders, I thank the General Commander of the Armed Forces, all those who contributed to the fact that we can commemorate the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising in this way – emphasized the head of the Ministry of National Defense.
