He came with them from Egypt, but they were unaware of his presence for two months. He fell in when he came out from under the couch and a resolute boy who was doing his homework covered him with a sandwich container. This is how the scorpion ended up in the hands of the city guard.
On Tuesday, city guards from the eco-patrol received a call to a tenement house on Aleja Przyjaciół. In one of the apartments, a scorpion crawled out from under the sofa in the evening. According to the guards, it was the size of a five-zloty coin, but its impressive pincers were impressive. Despite this, it did not frighten a several-year-old boy who was doing his homework in this room. The child covered the uninvited guest with a plastic sandwich container and called his mother.
– When the woman came into the room, the scorpion used its characteristic tactics. When threatened, these animals become immobile, waiting for an opportunity to escape or an imprudent move by their opponent, reported the guard who intervened.
From Egypt to Warsaw
However, the mother and her son were not fooled. They decided to call for reinforcements and called the city guard. Ecopatrol officers caught the arachnid in a safe transport container. They also guessed the reasons for his presence. The scorpion probably came with his family from a holiday in Egypt, from which they returned at the end of August.
The next stop for the curious arachnid was the CITES Center at the Warsaw Zoo. He must forget about returning to his homeland.
