In the new year, Warsaw residents will pay lower tax on parking spaces in garages in multi-family buildings. The City Hall announces that the new rates will be calculated automatically by officials. Residents will receive information about them in tax decisions issued for 2025.
Changes in the taxation of garages in multi-family residential buildings enter into force on January 1, 2025. The capital city hall explains that they are introduced by the law adopted in November this year Act amending the Agricultural Tax Act, the Act on Local Taxes and Fees and the Stamp Duty Act. “According to the new regulations, the reduced tax rate will apply to rooms intended for storing vehicles, located in residential buildings, not used for business purposes,” officials say in a press release.
How to check the new garage tax rate?
The City Hall announces that due to the change in regulations, residents do not have to submit the IN-1 form or any additional letters or declarations to the office. Current rates will be calculated automatically based on data collected in the unified tax system. “The office has access to information regarding real estate. On this basis, in January 2025, new tax decisions will be issued taking into account reduced rates, which will be visible in the details of the calculation in the decision,” officials specify.
Residents will receive tax decisions for 2025 by traditional mail or electronically. The method of their delivery depends solely on the form of communication with the office chosen by the taxpayer. All details regarding the tax calculation, including the rate used, will be visible in the decision.
Officials declare that the issuance of tax decisions taking into account the new tax rates will start on January 2, 2025.
