This year, the “Parcel for the Insurgent” campaign was organized for the seventh time. 150 volunteers and scouts were involved in the action.
According to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, this year 330 veterans received gifts. The Christmas campaign for the participants of the Warsaw Uprising has been ongoing since 2018.
“More than 150 volunteers and scouts were involved in the campaign, who packed thousands of products into parcels. This year, the youngest volunteer was 14 years old and the oldest was 85. Additionally, several dozen couriers from DHL and drivers from FREENOW supported the Museum in delivering parcels around Poland and Warsaw, so that they reach the insurgents on time,” says the MPW in a press release.
Scouts and museum volunteers, meeting veterans, had the opportunity to talk to participants of events from 80 years ago. As emphasized in the statement, despite their age and the difficulties associated with it, the insurgents “infect” volunteers with optimism and joy of life.
Many private companies helped prepare and deliver the parcels, including: A.Blikle, AVANT Fabryka Porcelitu, JBB Bałdyga, Grupa Maspex, Mazop Group, Miraculum, Orbico, Pasieki Rodziny Sadowskich, CitySpace Novo.
