The election poster of Rafał Trzaskowski, the president of Warsaw and the candidate for the president of Poland, hung on the fence of the city parking lot in Podzamcze. Officials explain that there is nothing wrong with this, because it is one of the places intended for free placing similar materials. Other candidates can also use it.
A poster promoting Rafał Trzaskowski as a candidate for president of Poland appeared right at the gate of the guarded parking lot at Bugaj Street. The entry is located from the side of Wisłostrada, which is why it is perfectly visible to drivers driving towards Mokotów.
The parking lot belongs to the board of public areas, i.e. the municipal budget unit, which deals with representative areas in Śródmieście. We asked officials about what principles the banner was placed on the fence of the city parking lot.

– The city is obliged to designate places for free hanging and electoral posters. Four locations were indicated in our unit and Śródmieście district. This is a plaque at the marketplace at Hala Mirowska and a fence of three parking lots: on Bugaj Street, Street from Mostowa and Karasia Street – Arkadiusz Łapkiewicz, director of the Board of Public Looks, explains in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.
“The cited place is one of several dozen in the Śródmieście district, where all election committees can place their posters for free,” the press department of the City Hall told our editorial department.
Where can you place election ads?
The director of ZTP explains that the full list of such locations is available in “Information of the President of the Capital City of Warsaw on the subject of places designated in the Warsaw Capital City of Warsaw for free placing official election announcements and posters of all election committees”.
Such a document is published by the city authorities before each universal elections. It includes municipal plaques and advertising poles as well as other objects where free display of campaign materials, located in individual districts of Warsaw, is allowed. For example, it includes notice boards in offices, municipal schools and kindergartens, libraries, cultural centers, sports centers and oligocene studies. It also includes places to place ads in public space, such as boards at bazaars, bus and tram loops or squares.
The press department of the capital city hall explains that the obligation to designate such places in the local government is imposed by the Electoral Code. Then their list is made public. Residents can see it on the website of the Municipal Contact Center Warsaw 19115, in the Public Information Bulletin and on the pages of individual districts. There is also all necessary information on the organization and course of the presidential election.
Electoral committees can also post materials on selected engineering facilities such as: bridges, viaducts, flyovers, pedestrian footbridges, subject to city roads. In this case, however, it is necessary to apply to road workers for a permit to occupy the road lane. This is also associated with the obligation to pay a fee. Its height depends on the number of square meters of advertising surfaces and the number of days of occupying the road lane.
