A man with diabetes fainted on Bankowy Square. Falling, he hit his head tightly on a metal trash bin. He probably suffered a brain shock. Passers -by alerted the city guard patrol. The victim was assisted by an officer who is a rescuer of qualified premedical assistance.

The dangerous situation occurred on Tuesday, March 18 around 17.30. The City Guard describes that during the intervention at Bankowa Plac to Patrol a woman ran up who noticed a fainting older man near the gate of the capital city hall. An officer who was a rescuer of qualified premedical assistance approached the victim.

The man hurt his head

“With a metal heavy trash, he lay on his back, bleeding abundantly from the eyebrow arch, about a 60 -year -old man. The watchtower quickly assessed the situation, called an ambulance and started rescue operations,” the city guard says.

A young man, a third year student of emergency medical rescue, soon joined the guard. “They acted like a harmonious team. Two, they broke the bleeding and saved the victim. As they determined, the man suffers from diabetes. While waiting for an ambulance, the 60 -year -old began to reveal the symptoms of brain shock. No wonder – his fall was so violent that he hit his head with a metal basket, he fell to the ground” – they say officers.

The man was provided and covered with a thermal blanket. The ambulance took the victim to the hospital.

“In the Warsaw City Guard, 100 officers already have rescue rights. Last year, the guards undertook one and a half thousand interventions related to saving human health and life” – they summed up.
