Positive temperatures do not prevent you from ice skating. The ice rink in Bródnowski Park has been open for several days now. The next ones open at the beginning of December. A total of 17 city ice rinks will be available.
The skating season is starting. In addition to the frozen surface, city ice rinks also offer skate rentals and relaxation areas. In addition, each facility is also properly lit, so you can skate in the evenings.
Why is it possible to use the ice rink despite positive temperatures? “The ice rinks are equipped with specialized cooling systems that maintain the ice temperature, and the surface is smoothed using special machines that eliminate unevenness and apply a fresh layer of water,” the city hall informs.
Skating from December
Most facilities will open at the beginning of December. The opening of the ice rink in Stegny is scheduled for Monday, December 2, at 8:30, and in the Moczydło Center you will be able to skate on the same day, but from 9:00. In turn, the festively decorated ice rink in the Old Town Square will be open from December 4, from 1:00 p.m., and in front of the Palace of Culture and Science it will also start on Wednesday, but at 10:00.
In turn, the ice rink at OSiR Ochota opens on November 30, as does OSiR Wawer, and the one at the Wilanów Sports Center on December 1.

Active Warsaw is once again organizing winter skating competitions for children and teenagers from primary schools. “On selected Thursdays, participants will compete over four distances adapted to the age of the participants. The youngest, first-graders will race over 50 m, and the oldest over 300 m. Participation in the competition and rental of skates is completely free of charge,” informed the town hall.
Skiing on the slope
Fans of skiing or snowboarding will also find something for themselves. There is Górka Szczęśliwiecka, a ski slope that can be used all year round. It is located in Szczęśliwicki Park at 22 Drawska Street, in Ochota.
“The facility has a restaurant and two viewing terraces. Górka Szczęśliwicka, as the highest natural point in Warsaw, reveals a unique panorama of the city,” encourages the city hall.
