Podskarbińska Stadium looks new. After its modernization, athletes have nine tracks at their disposal. They can also use the athletics throwing fields, jumping hills and a beach volleyball court.
– I am very glad that such a facility was built in Praga-Południe, after years of struggle. Both Polish championships and international meetings will be held here. We are providing a modern sports facility to the residents of the district, it will be used primarily by young people, but also seniors. I invite all sports enthusiasts to the new version of Podskarbińska Stadium – said Rafał Trzaskowski, mayor of Warsaw, quoted in the release.
“The Podskarbińska Stadium is another Warsaw sports complex that has been restored to its former glory after many years. The total investment cost was over PLN 22 million,” the city hall reported.
Running track, throwing areas, jumping hills
The stadium offers a main arena with, among others, an eight-lane, 400-meter long track, seven athletics throws, and jumps for high, long and pole jumps.
The warm-up and training area has a new look. It has been rebuilt. In addition to the athletics zone, it also houses a beach volleyball court. According to the city hall, modern and energy-saving LED lighting was also installed throughout the stadium.
“Thanks to the modernization, competitions at the level of national championships or meetings of the International Association of Athletics Federations can be held here,” the city hall noted.
