“In the Polonez OSiR Targówek swimming pool at Łabiszyńska Street 20 in Targówek, adults and children using the pool were poisoned with chlorine. 23 people have already been injured” – informed the Provincial Emergency Medical Service Station “Meditrans” in Warsaw. 60 people were evacuated. There are preliminary results of air and water sample tests.
There are eight Medical Rescue Teams on site. “The 112 operator also sent firefighters from the State Fire Service and police officers from the Warsaw Police. More Medical Rescue Teams are being sent to the scene. Patients with symptoms of chlorine poisoning are being transported to hospitals in the capital,” the paramedics added.
“Some people show symptoms of inhalation poisoning”
The fire department is also working. – Some people are showing symptoms of inhalation poisoning, the main symptoms are coughing. 23 people are injured, 17 have already been taken to hospital. Firefighters took samples from the pool. Measurements were also taken. 60 people were evacuated – informed about 21st Capt. Wojciech Kapczyński from the Warsaw Fire Department.
Ultimately, 21 people were taken to hospitals, two refused hospitalization. Firefighters already have preliminary results of air and water sample tests. As reported by the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service, there were no objections to the air. However, the doses of chlorine in the water were exceeded: at the mirror and at the bottom.
