The plane flying from Warsaw to Sarajevo returned to the capital. The reason was the weather over the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We asked about the details of the strange flight route of the plane from Warsaw to Sarajevo at Chopin Airport. – The weather did not allow for a safe landing. The plane turned around and landed safely and without any problems in Warsaw – said Piotr Rudzki from Chopin Airport. The cruise has been cancelled.

As Artur Węgrzynowicz, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, found out, the plane is an Embraer E190. He could not land in Sarajevo due to fog. – The pilots circled around, waiting for the weather to improve. Before departure, they decided to approach, at an altitude of 500 meters, they aborted the landing and returned to Warsaw – the reporter reported.

As he explained, the range of this plane is 3.5 thousand kilometers with full fuel tanks. – The straight line route from Warsaw to Sarajevo is about 1,000 kilometers, and the flight takes less than two hours – added the reporter. The plane had enough fuel to return.

– For each flight, an alternate airport is planned where the plane can land in case of problems at the destination airport. In the case of flights to Warsaw, it is most often Łódź, Kraków or Poznań. Interestingly, in the case of the flight from Warsaw to Sarajevo, it was decided to return to the capital – noted Węgrzynowicz.
